A Fine Gael Senator, has welcomed the announcement of LEADER funding for the Birdhill Community Sports Field.
Senator Maria Byrne received confirmation from the Minister for Rural and Community Development Michael Ring TD.
Senator Byrne said “€107,091 has been allocated by my Fine Gael colleague Minister Michael Ring towards the Birdhill Community Sports Field. This funding will go towards pitch development, the provision of changing facilities, fencing and associated site works.
“I am delighted for the community in Birdhill. We know how important sport is to the community here. The mental and physical health benefits associated with sports participation are well documented and I want people to have every opportunity to get involved.”
